I’ve always thought that stained glass is made when you draw on windows using a special type of paint that sticks. However, it is much more interesting than that! First to make glass, you need to melt sand and wood ash into a liquid, which turns into glass when cooled. Next to color the glass, powdered metals must be added while the glass is molten. The molten glass is then blown or spun into different shapes. Finally, the entire image is created by arranging the different pieces over the design drawn on a board.
